Day Sixty Six

Frosty morning, beautiful weather but kind of dark skies over the Pirate...

All day long endless flocks of corvids over our tower. Jackdaws, rooks and hooded crows dominated the sky, they flied in number of 9900. Once the black stream stopped the hole was filled with flocks of woodpigeons, altogether 4541 birds. Passerines followed with dominating great tits, chaffinches and brambling. Redpoll was more numerous, today there was about 50 birds with the presence of one Arctic Redpoll. All the birds were followed by sparrowhawks, merlins and hen harriers. Common buzzards still stubbornly fly East. At the end of the day there is a desert: a Short-eared Owl.
Counted by: Adam Janczyszyn, Paweł Butkiewicz. Guests: Stanisław Turowski with his crew.
